Trade Finance Global (TFG) is delighted to announce a new educational partnership with FCI Academy – the centre of knowledge for receivables finance.
Through the partnership, FCI Academy will provide the participants of the TFG Student Writer Programme with 10 educational licenses for the ‘Fundamentals on Domestic and International Factoring Course’
During the six-month programme, students from top universities around the world will be on-boarded onto TFG’s Student Writer Programme.
During the programme they will learn about trade and receivables finance, and report on topical matters around this niche, ranging from the uncertainties in the geopolitical and economic climate to innovations in global trade.
Articles may also be published in TFG’s magazine, Trade Finance Talks. The students will also have the opportunity to build their network by interviewing experts from the trade finance industry, while at the same time developing their skills as writers.
The Student Writer Programme, an initiative from TFG, aims to bridge the educational gap in international trade, shipping, and finance.
Now in its second year, TFG has partnered with FCI Academy to help provide an enriching educational opportunity to some of the student writers.
The FCI Academy Course is an online foundation course about domestic and international factoring, including a brief history of the industry, FCI, different types of factoring, its benefits, and the methods and mechanism of the two-factor system.
This programme is one of two education initiatives led by TFG, the other being the Accelerate Scholarship, where TFG hosts a grant that helps students to realise their full potential in a career in the trade. This will be announced later this year.
Aysen Çetintas, education director at FCI, said: “FCI is delighted to be joining forces with TFG to support the participants of the TFG Student Writer Programme.
“The partnership will positively contribute to filling in the educational gap in international trade and finance by providing knowledge and best practice in domestic and international factoring, one of the best financing tools for open account trade both in emerging and developed markets.
“We are pleased to support TFG and the participants of the Student Writer Programme from top universities all around the world.”

Deepesh Patel, director of partnerships and marketing at TFG, said: “The educational gap in trade, receivables, and factoring remains a concern for the industry. By attracting young talent, with the incredible help of the FCI Academy, we believe that this initiative, now entering its second successful year, is a force for good in enabling the understanding of global trade and commerce.”
The announcement follows the news of TFG’s launch of Trade Finance Talks, a magazine, podcast, and thought-leadership series aimed at educating practitioners in trade from around the world. Attracting around 100,000 monthly readers, Trade Finance Talks has a global audience in 185 countries.
FCI Academy constitutes the most complete education programme on factoring and receivables finance, providing a wide range of globally recognised and accredited educational offerings that aim to support personal, corporate, and market development globally.
The Academy uses a variety of knowledge-delivery systems, including online learning methods (e-learning courses, webinars, online training sessions) and real-time training sessions (seminars, workshops, on-site training) for enhancing professional and business growth.
This newly launched partnership affirms that education is a key element for the future development and professionalisation of the trade finance industry.
