London, 31st July 2019. Trade Finance Global (TFG) are delighted to announce a media partnership with The London Institute of Banking & Finance for the 23rd World Conference of Banking Institutes (WCBI). The highly anticipated event will be held at the Guildhall, London on the 16th and 17th September 2019 and will explore growth and sustainability in an age of disruption, looking at both the challenges and the opportunities within banking and finance.
The global banking and finance industry is going through a period of unprecedented change. The nature of money and international payments, as well as the role of the banking sector is shifting, and so are the skills and roles of banking professionals. Technology is also changing, not only within the banking environment but also around customer expectations and regulation. Also, shifts in the political landscape are challenging established trade relationships.
The WCBI will bring together senior-level banking professionals from around the world to exchange ideas and discuss the forces that are shaping the future of the banking industry. Over two days, the delegates will be examining how technology is opening up markets and how regulators and businesses can stay ahead of the curve. The conference will cover a plethora of topics, from technology and innovation within banking, right through to ESG and Sustainable Finance, and will be looking ahead to what banks will be doing in 2029.
Alex Fraser, Chief Executive, at The London Institute of Banking & Finance said:
The 23rd World Conference of Banking Institutes (WCBI) comes at a critical time. Increasingly the global finance sector – so critical for world economies – is in the front line of the many fundamental and pressing challenges facing our society today. Change brings with it challenges and risks, but with change also comes opportunity. By attending the conference you can join the conversation and play a role in what we expect will be critical debates.”
Since 1975, WCBI has been the thought leadership forum for banking institutes around the world, supporting positive change and evolution within the sector. Trends may be global, but banking systems vary across the world – as do the challenges and opportunities. And this year’s conference will be an unmissable opportunity to take part in planning for the future of our sector.
