        Financing tomorrow's trade

        Soft Commodities Trader

        Due to increased sales, a soft commodity trader required a receivables purchase facility for one of their large customers - purchased from Africa and sold to the US.

        Metals Trader

        Purchasing commodities from Africa, the US, and Europe and selling to Europe, a metals trader required a receivables finance facility for a book of their receivables/customers.

        Energy Trading Group

        An energy group, selling mainly into Europe, desired a receivables purchase facility to discount names, where they had increased sales and concentration.

        Clothing company

1: Trade Finance Global Awards – Terms and Conditions


Your use of this Website, as a User, and interaction with Trade Finance Global, inclusive of any companies and subsidiaries within TFG Hold Co, the owner(s) of this Website, is governed by your compliance and agreement with these terms and conditions. Your agreement to adhere to these terms and conditions is assumed upon your initial and all subsequent uses of the Website. If you do not concur with these terms and conditions, you are advised to cease using the Website immediately.

A – Definitions and Interpretation

In this Agreement, the following terms shall have the respective meanings:

“Content” refers to any text, graphics, images, audio, video, software, data compilations and any other form of information capable of being stored in a computer that appears on or forms part of this Website;
“Trade Finance Global” signifies Trade Finance Global and any companies and subsidiaries within TFG Hold Co;
“Service” represents any online facilities, tools, services or information that Trade Finance Global makes available through the Website, now or in the future;
“Premises” refers to our place(s) of business;
“System” denotes any online communications infrastructure that Trade Finance Global makes available through the Website either now or in the future. This includes, but is not limited to, web-based email, message boards, live chat facilities and email links;
“User” / “Users” means any third party that accesses the Website and is not employed by Trade Finance Global and acting in the course of their employment; and
“Website” signifies the website that you are currently using (https://www.tradefinanceglobal.com) and any sub-domains of this site unless expressly excluded by their own terms and conditions.

B – Trade Finance Global Trade, Treasury & Payments Awards

The provision of a Trade Finance Global Trade, Treasury & Payments Award (the Award) by Trade Finance Global does not constitute an endorsement or advice on the quality of finance providers. All Awards are conferred based on an independent methodology, judged by a steering committee who have declared any conflicts of interest.

The Trade Finance Global awards are entirely not-for-profit; we do not accept sponsorships or payments for the awards. The awards may be presented at a designated event such as Sibos or BAFT. Winners may incur costs to travel to the award event and might need to cover a nominal pass-through cost if they do not possess tickets to the respective event. However, attendance at the event or awards ceremony is not a requirement for receipt of the award.

Please note that award trophies are for presentation purposes only and are not retained by the winners.

Decisions on award winners are final. In the instance of a dispute regarding the outcome, an appeal can be made. The appeal process is as follows:

  • Appeals must be submitted in writing to Trade Finance Global within 30 days of the award announcement.
  • All appeals must state clearly the grounds for the appeal.
  • The Appeal Committee will review the appeal, taking into account the selection criteria and the reasons outlined in the appeal.
  • The decision of the Appeal Committee will be final.

Trade Finance Global expressly disclaims any endorsement of any businesses, brands, products, and/or services. The Trade Finance Global seal does not signify any warranty or guarantee regarding the use or performance of any products and/or services by the award-winning businesses.

Trade Finance Global does not accept any liability or offer any warranty related to the purchase and/or usage of any such products and/or services. All information provided by Trade Finance Global is on an “as is” or “as available” basis. No advice or information given by Trade Finance Global or any of its officers, directors, agents, employees, insurers, successors, or assigns shall create any warranty.

Materials on this website, including but not limited to the Award seal, are copyrighted and meant for informational purposes only. Unauthorized use, reproduction, alteration, posting, publication, transmission, upload, or distribution of such materials without Trade Finance Global’s express written permission is strictly prohibited and could result in penalties.

2: Trade Finance Global Steering Committee

The following terms and conditions govern the participation in the Steering Committee for the International Trade, Treasury & Payments Awards 2023:

A. Role of the Steering Committee:


The Committee guides the evaluation process for the Awards. Its members will impartially assess contenders and select winners from a pre-selected shortlist, ensuring an unbiased, inclusive, and fair process.

B. Responsibilities:


Members will review the briefing packs prepared by Trade Finance Global (TFG), evaluate contenders impartially, vote anonymously for winners in assigned categories, and present an award at the BAFT 2023 Global Leaders Conference at Sibos in Toronto, if available and willing.

C. Time Commitment:


The service term runs from June 2023 to September 2023, with an expected commitment of approximately 2 hours.

D. Conflicts of Interest:


Members must declare any potential conflicts of interest which could compromise their impartiality. Upon identifying a conflict, they must disclose it to TFG and abstain from evaluating or voting in the relevant category. TFG reserves the right to reassign the award category to another Committee member in such cases.

E. Anonymity of Voting:


All votes cast will be anonymized. Voting member identities will not be disclosed to other members, contenders, or the public.

F. Recognition:


Steering Committee members will be featured in the Trade Finance Talks Sibos Issue and listed on the TFG Trade Finance Awards 2023 webpage.

G. Change in Current Role:


If a member leaves their current position or organization during their term, TFG has the right to either reassign the role within the member’s organization or ask the member to leave the Committee. Members are required to notify TFG immediately upon any change in their current role.

TFG reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions as needed. Any changes will be promptly communicated to the Steering Committee members. By accepting to serve on the Steering Committee, members agree to abide by these terms and conditions, ensuring the fairness, credibility, and transparency of the Awards.
