We spoke to Tristan Cardwell at Crozdesk to bring you 10 killer Web apps that finance startups and fintech companies love to use.
Software as a service (SaaS) tools can increase productivity, save time and help teams run efficiently. In the growing competitive fintech and finance space, we believe SaaS tools are essential for business survival. Gone are the days of 6 month developer queues and project timelines, SaaS tools welcome disruption, quick user testing and rapid iteration and development of projects. What’s more, we’ve looked at affordable (sometimes free) tools which finance businesses can use today to grow.
Crozdesk is dedicated to making your life easier by providing entrepreneurs, web developers and designers with a platform for finding and comparing web tools. We asked the team: what are the best Web apps for finance and fintech companies and why?
#1 – Megaventory
Stock level management, raising purchase orders, managing returns, serial numbers… the Megaventory list gets exhaustive!
For users of trade finance and stock finance, selling inventory to customers internationally is probably the bread and butter of your business. Inventory management in several locations, tracking and managing returns, raising purchase orders and reporting on this can be a pain. Megaventory is a disruptive customisable platform that allows companies a scalable one-stop shop for all of this, and comes with an intuitive interface which can be accessed across multiple devices.
#2 – Optimizely
Drag and drop interface to A/B test your site in 5 minutes
You can create A/B landing pages without the need for a coder or web developer using Optimizely. The easy to use interface means you can send traffic to 2+ landing pages in a matter of minutes and quickly improve your conversion rate.
#3 – Piktochart
Infographics without spending £000’s!
Piktochart is a simple drag and drop interface for creating stunning infographics and animated pictures – great for displaying finance trends, explaining fintech concepts and engaging audiences. Customers often complain that content and concepts within the fintech space are complex and ‘boring’ – Piktochart certainly brings these to life, which is why we agree with Crozdesk’s recommendation!
#4 – Hootsuite
Social media at your fingertips
Social media is at the heart of most businesses, but in the increasingly loud world of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google Plus, LinkedIn…, it’s often time consuming and expensive to be a voice across all social media channels. Hootsuite makes it easy to monitor conversation, autoschedule Tweets, posts and pictures, and keep an eye on your competitors to stay ahead of the game!
#5 – Stripe
Hassle free payments platform
If you sell inventory or operate as an ecommerce business, Stripe provides a set of Aps and tools that enables companies to accept payments from credit and debit cards through their website or mobile apps. Stripe is a solution for companies of all sizes, and we love it’s backend interface too for monitoring transaction history.
#6 – Evernote
No more paper notes!
We’d happily recommend Evernote as a tool to organise your life! I recently went to a conference, saved the notes on Evernote’s mobile app, took photos, a web-clipping from a company that was presenting, and saved them to my Evernote. I then created a reminder to follow up on a conversation I had with someone at the conference; I also shared the note with a colleague and followed up on the beautiful desktop interface when I got back to the office.
#7 – Majestic
Award winning search analysis and SEO tool
Majestic tracks around a billion URLs every day and is one of the largest link intelligence database tool in the world. Majestic isn’t just for SEO experts – it can be used to monitor competitor activity, powerful link analysis software and providing in depth keyword analysis. We really like the reporting software when comparing other organisations in the same sector/ niche.
#8 – Trello
Prioritisation and organising information has never been easier
Trello is a friendly web and mobile app which can be used by teams to organise tasks, prioritise information and show progress and workflow on multiple projects. In the collaborative world we work in, monitoring workflow, providing input on projects and teamwork are essential for getting stuff done. Finance startups can use Trello to plan and track progress of tasks in different teams (e.g. sales and marketing leads, web developer projects and research team tasks).
#9 – DocuSign
Never print and scan contracts again
DocuSign is a simple and secure tool which allows companies to upload documents and contracts for signing in many different formats. Saving time and paper without compromising security, DocuSign has 50 million users in 188 countries and we believe it’s the future of electronic signatures.
#10 – Braintree
Here from your first pound to your billionth
Braintree is disruptive payments processing platform which works in around 40 countries accepting 130 currencies, including Bitcoin. It’s free to use for the first £30,000, and then it’s 2.4% + 20p per transaction. Aside from its fancy marketing campaigns around the world, we believe Braintree is a great integration that will allow fintech companies to add most payment types to checkout processes on web or app.
